Principal's Message

Mr. Woods

Hello, Mt. View families:

I hope you had a great weekend. As we head into a new school week, I wanted to share a few things that may be of interest.

· A quick reminder that to make sure all students have enough time to eat breakfast in the morning, our doors will be open at 8:30 AM. Of course, you can drop your student off later than 8:30, especially if they are not eating breakfast with us.

· We want to remind parents and families to drop students off at the front door when arriving at school. We have several staff members who are at the doors and ready to help students get to where they need to go. There has been enough time since the beginning of the year that students should be independent enough to find where they need to go. If not, we will be there to help. Thank you for dropping your student off at the front doors, we will take it from there!

· Picture Day will be on October 4th, with retakes taking place on November 15th.

· Our PTSO will be putting on a Family Bingo Night this Thursday, September 28th. Doors will open at 5:30 PM, with Bingo games from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Playing is free, but there will be MTV merchandise and food that can be purchased on a cash only basis.

· Speaking of our PTSO, they will be operating the student store on Friday mornings.

· Student and Family Handbooks should be made available to you this week. We wanted to get them out last week, but we had a few sections that needed some last-minute editing. We will either send you a link to the handbook online or we may send you an email with the handbook attached. We will also have paper copies at school if that is your preference.

· Encourage your kids to read as much as they can outside of school. Every little bit helps for our students to become readers and leaders.

That is all for now and we are looking forward to a great week. I cannot believe it is almost October, but we have a lot of learning left to do in September.

Have a great week and Go Vikings!

Be Kind, Be Safe, Be a Learner!
