About Mt. View Elementary
To provide the highest quality educational opportunities possible to all students, in environments that nurture and promote each student's unique capabilities and finest achievements.
Hello MTV Families, We had a great first day and I want to check in with you about a few things that will look different for Day 2. We absolutely understand and appreciate that parents/families want to bring their students into the building for the first day of school as there is a lot of excitement and nervousness (for students and parents). With that being said, beginning tomorrow, if you want to walk your student to the front doors of the school that is great, but please let our staff take it from there. Also, feel free to use our drop off lane (closest to the school) in the front parking lot and we are happy to come out to meet our students and get them to the front doors. Either way, we will get them in the building and where they need to go. We will have a sign up in the morning that shows where parents and family members will need to stop if coming into the building. If you need to come into the office, please do, but for the safety and security of our students and staff, access to the rest of the building will be limited to the area in front of our sign. Please do not plan on walking your student to their classroom in the morning, we will get them to either breakfast or recess. At the end of the day, if you are waiting at school to pick up your student, please stay outside until they are released to you. Specifically, please do not wait in the foyer as that is where students will be coming out. We tried having first grade pick-up students come directly outside at the end of the day, but because of supervision constraints and student safety, we are going to make an adjustment. All pick-up students (1st through 4th grades) will come to the gym after school and we will use the QR code system to release them to parents once you are at Mt. View. This is the same process we used last year for 1st through 4th grades. We will continue to find ways to speed this process up, and we appreciate your patience, especially these first few days. We also realize that there were some transportation issues today that we hope are resolved for tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Besides all of that new information, it was a great day, and we are so happy to be back with your kids at Mt. View. Greg Woods Principal Mt. View Elementary Be Kind, Be Safe, Be a Learner
