Principal's Message

Good afternoon Mountain View Families and Staff,

Happy Sunday!  Last week was excellent and our all-school assembly was so fun!  It was like a sneak peak at all the wonderful events we can get back to hosting this year!  Speaking of events, our PTSO has their first meeting of the year on Tuesday.    We would love to see many families in our Zoom Room.  Information for the meeting is below.

Our students did an excellent job at our first drill of the year.  All students and staff were evacuated and accounted for within 6 minutes!  In October, we will practice our earthquake drills.

While we prefer no cell phones at school, we are asking parents to remind their children that cell phones need to be off and put away during the school day and that toys are not encouraged at school.  We have had some hurt feelings over lost and broken toys this week.

Our fall soccer intramural registration is closed.  There is a waiting list.  Coach Haskins will be reaching out soon to share specific information with participating families.

Here are some things happening at Mountain View this week:

  • 3rd and 4th grade Choir begins on Tuesday, September 20th for students who have registered to participate.  Mrs. Hays will meet her choir students at the front door at 7:45 am!
  • On Tuesday, September 20th, we will have our first PTSO meeting of the year beginning at 6:00 pm.  Here is the link to the Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89087584053?pwd=M05BNlU0M3ZIVFdLejFpVXRvNm9OUT09
  • Intramural soccer begins on Thursday, September 22nd for students who are registered.

Let’s have a wonderful week at Mountain View!
